From parents and grandparents

Birth to eighteen

One book, their whole childhood

Start at any age

Easy to catch up on

Made in the USA

Smyth-sewn, built to last generations

How it compares

Most baby books stall at week six.

That’s not on you. They ask for footprints, dates, and percentiles, and apps want you posting as it happens. This one asks for a few memories a year, starting wherever you are.

Compared on Kept Most baby books Apps and photo books
When you can start Any age, birth to eighteen Day one or you’re behind Anytime
What it asks of you A few prompts a year Dates, weights, and every first Daily posts or hours of sorting
The prompts Guided, but you pick what matters Rigid and one-size-fits-all Whatever the app asks
If you fall behind It’s easy to catch up Impossible to catch up Harder to catch up every day
Photos Optional, on blank pages each year Specific shots, or an empty slot All of them
What you need A pen and a few minutes Doctor’s charts and a near-perfect memory A phone and often a subscription
Durability Smyth-sewn to last generations Depends on the binding Only what got printed

Less statistics, more heart

What this book doesn’t ask.

It skips the stats and the dates and goes straight to the things you actually want to remember: what made them laugh, what they said, who they’re becoming.

The old book wanted

  • Weight and length at every checkup
  • The date each tooth came in
  • Inked footprints at two weeks old
  • Percentiles, charted

This one asks

  • What made them laugh this year
  • The cute things they said
  • Adventures you went on
  • Who they are becoming

What families say

Some started at birth. Some at eleven.

What I’ve been waiting for

I have been working a little each night on these kept books, one for each of my children who are now 2 and five. It’s not too late! It was surprisingly easy to fill out by looking back at photos on my phone and searching my text messages for “*name of child* said.”

This was the best purchase I’ve ever made

I’m 7 years behind (eek!) and my family and I had a blast going down memory lane to capture the years we missed.

I’ve been hunting for a “baby book” that works for my 14 and 11 year old

I’ve been hunting for a “baby book” that works for my 14 and 11 year old, as we have a new baby coming and realized we didn’t have books for the big kids. I love that I can create one for all of them now without having to remember when their teeth came in 14 years ago. We had each one engraved with their name and they’re beautiful and high-quality.

How it works

You pick what’s worth remembering.

Hands holding an open Kept book, filled in

01 · Open to their year

A few pages for every year, birth to eighteen. Start on day one, or open to the age they are now.

A filled-in favorites page

02 · Answer what stands out

Favorites, adventures, the cute things they said. Circle one, write a line, or tell the whole story.

A parent on the sofa, writing in the book

03 · Flip back later

Ten minutes every few months keeps it going. If a year gets away from you, the camera roll and family members can help fill it in.

Before you order

Frequently asked questions

My oldest is eleven. Isn’t it too late?

No. The book is simple enough to go back and fill in for an older kid. Parents tell us it’s surprisingly easy with a camera roll and a few old texts. The point isn’t to capture everything, just the things that matter to you. Parents have started at eight, at eleven, and even one at twenty-two!

What if we don’t keep up with it?

Most baby books want daily entries, dates and measurements, so one busy month puts you behind. This one asks a handful of questions a year: favorites, adventures, the cute things they said. Pick it up every few months, or even once a year around their birthday.

Why does it cost more than other baby books?

It’s made to be used for eighteen years and kept long after that: linen over board, a Smyth-sewn binding, thick acid- and lignin-free paper, printed in Salt Lake City and bound in Grand Rapids by family-run shops. Spread over eighteen years, it comes to less than $5 a year, even with their name on the cover.

Is there room for photos?

Some. It isn’t a dedicated photo book. It’s built for writing down the things you want to remember. There are blank pages at the end of each year that fit Polaroids or mini prints if you’d like to add a few.

Can each kid have their own name on the cover?

Yes. Add each book to your cart on its own and type that child’s name, up to ten characters, for $20 a book. Imprinted books take an extra 5–7 business days before they ship. Two or more books are 25% off each with code KEPT25.

Is it a good gift?

Yes. People give it for baby showers, first Mother’s Days, and a lot of new parents’ Christmas lists. Add the baby’s name and it arrives already theirs. Not sure which color they’d pick? A gift card lets them choose. Need it sooner? Priority shipping (2–4 business days) is $14.95 at checkout.

We’re expecting. When should we start?

Whenever you like. The book opens with your family tree and a short pregnancy section, then the day they’re born, then a few pages for every year to eighteen. Plenty of parents order it before the baby comes and don’t write a word the first year. Nothing on the page goes stale while you wait.

What if it isn’t right for us?

Return it for any reason within 30 days of receiving it for a full refund. No questions asked.

A timeless investment

I love these so much. We got one each for our older kiddos six years ago - when they were toddlers- and now just bought one for our next little one on the way!

Kept is a timeless and treasured investment. There are so many precious moments throughout childhood that are fleeting..life gets in the way and soon we forget. Those big and little things that make our kiddos who they are! But our journals capture those precious moments.
I can't wait to present their kept to each of them when they turn 19. I can't imagine all the gold each one will contain that will encourage, reorient, and strengthen them as adults.

My third Kept book

I just purchased my third Kept book, for our third and final baby.Ihave grown to love the books even more as my kids get older, the thoughtful prompts that are fitting for each new stage, while still maintaining the thoughtfulness of helpful g document the simple and special things that I never want to forget. I also appreciate that I can easily input as much or as little as time allows for and these books still hold so much of our little family in them. So thankful each of my kids will have one of their own to one day see the love spilled over onto the page from the life we get to spend together.

Buy this true treasure of memory keeping.....

I bought my first baby this book when he was 3. I knew I had to buy one when I got pregnant with our little girl. I love the true memories that are kept. This is an easy book to keep up with and hits on the things that truly matter like the cute things your kids say and the interests that define your children. Don't hesitate on this buy!

MOM GUILT GONE!😅❤️

I have 2 beautiful children! I felt so guilty trying to fill out my firsts baby book that was gifted to me. There was a lot of things that I had missed statistically and just gave up trying to fill it out for her. When I found these I knew it was exactly what I needed. So easy to fill out!! I love that it allows me to record all 18 years I get with them at home! I cannot wait to give these to them one day for them to look back on all of our memories together!🥰

These journals are really well made

These journals are really well made, the style is timeless. I love the feel of the fabric. The paper is so nice and they will be really easy to fill out. I’m really glad to have an option for a baby book that didn’t have to be filled out from the very beginning. Motherhood can be so crazy from the get-go and postpartum is crazy in and of itself so sometimes it can be a little overwhelming, crazy and busy to expect Mom to fill out a book on top of everything else.

Collection of Memories ‘Bound’ With Class Gifted with Love!

Collection of Memories Bound With Class and Gifted with Love! I can’t get enough of these books for placing all my thoughts on paper from my previous children’s childhood moments—-to my current child’s as they take place. Should have done this sooner! It’s the perfect gift to reflect on. It’s perfect to gift my children with so they have these memories later. It’s a wonderful gift to give a new and expecting mother as well. In fact, I’m going to need two more (once I get these caught up lol) plus an additional one (now) for my oldest daughter who just found out she is pregnant and expecting in March!

I didn’t know I needed this!

I wasn’t sure what book to purchase during my pregnancy for my first child’s baby book. I found Kept and I’m so glad I did. I love how easy this book is to fill out. It is also very high quality. There are open prompts instead of detailed spaces and I love the open spaces for photos of your choosing! Thank you for this wonderful book. I highly recommend it for any first time parents!

A Keepsake to Last a Lifetime

I bought this memory book for both of my kids, and it’s quickly become one of my most treasured traditions. What I love most are the open-ended prompts. They give me space to write what actually matters, not just generic milestones. Throughout the year, I jot down funny quotes, sweet moments, and little memories. Then, around each birthday, I sit down to fill in that year’s chapter.

The quality is incredible. The thick, premium pages handle my felt-tip pen beautifully, and the binding feels like it will last for decades. This book isn’t just for me. It’s something I hope my kids will flip through as adults and feel deeply loved.

If you want a keepsake that grows with your child from birth to 18 (and lets you tell your version of their story) this is the one.

A must have for all parents!

A must have for all parents!

This is so easy, heartfelt, and fun to fill out- I love that as children grow they can begin to write their own answers to questions. They will cherish this book for the rest of their lives.

Perfect baby book!

I ordered these books for my newborn and then for my other 3 children and love them. It’s perfect and not overwhelming with so much to add in. The cover itself is beautiful and very well made. I’m looking forward to adding to them over the years.

Super easy & fun!

I ordered two of these books for my bonus sons (4 & 3 years old). The books are SUPER easy to fill out! It’s nice getting to pick what you want to write about on the favorites pages! Their dad and I have had a blast filling them out reminiscing about all the silly things they have done and said. Also, as a bonus mom, it was really nice to see such a short and simple section for pregnancy. I didn’t birth them, but they are my babies through and through💙 I have already shared this book with other moms and encouraged them to get them (especially busy moms with multiple kids). I keep them on my nightstand, and we add to them often. Thank you Kept for reimagining the baby book🥰

Baby books for my two boys

I always felt bad I had nothing more formal for my older boy now that we also have an infant so I bought one for each kid. The fun format easily jogs ideas to memorialize even a few years "past due". They're also gorgeously covered books. I love the feel and colors.
