Our story
Katie here, owner of Kept. 👋🏼 Welcome - we're so glad you're here. The idea for Kept began years ago when I was looking for a simple way to record the most meaningful memories and events from our son's life (and now our two other kids as well!). I wanted something that was both beautifully designed but also not overwhelming to fill out. Years after the initial seed of an idea, I spent 2019 bringing Kept to life. We had our third baby that November and were getting ready to launch!
January 2020 - launch!
When our daughter,was just a couple months old, we launched this business. We had our first batch of inventory and were putting the finishing touches on our website during the newborn phase. It felt like the birth of two things in our family - our daughter and this business! It was January of 2020 - right before the whole world was going to see some big changes. We launched and the response was so sweet.
Focus on quality
We made sure from the beginning our book was of the utmost quality. All of our paper comes form a wind-powered mill in Canada. We print our books in SLC at a family run for 100 years print shop, and we bind our books at a family-owned bindery in Grand Rapids, MI. We changed to this new binder after our first started to lack in quality - we've had to make hard decisions but the quality of our product is paramount. The books have smyth-sewn binding, the toughest there is. Our paper is partially recycled and acid and lignon free. The vendors we work with are the best - we truly have a great team.

We work with the best vendors around - from our printer and our bookbinder. To our dear friend Emily who does all our photography to Mailee on our team who is behind the scenes making sure our customers are well taken care of. To Tidalwave, who packs every order and personalizes your books with your child's names. We're so grateful for such a talented, creative, professional, kind team.

The piece of copy that has resonated most with our customers is "The baby book for parents who didn't do a baby book." Most of us are stretched and maxed out during the little years - in the best and sometimes wildest way. We're trying to be present and didn't have time to do a baby book. Us included! We made it easy-to-fill-out and most importantly, focused on the meaningful things that you'll actually want to remember.

We have nothing against baby books, but we found that most parents want to keep special memories from every phase of their kid's childhood, not just the baby years.
The binding is smyth-sewn (strongest binding ever). The paper is thick #80 partially recycled premium paper from a wind-powered mill in Canada.
